Dan Inosanto, our Head Instructor: Espada y Daga Method/ Sword & Dagger Method Sensei Erik Paulson, Is our head instructor for CSW (Combat Submission Wrestling and is a student of Guru Dan Inosanto. Trained & Competed in Japan for 10 years- 2 time Heavyweight Champion. Shooto/CSW
Training: Comprehensive Jun Fan Gung Fu- Basic Fundamental Framework
My first Instructor, Kru Wesley Carroll is a fight trainer and has been preparing fighters for Muay Thai Kickboxing (Thai Boxing) since at least 2003 in the West Kendall area in a nicely located training center with an indoor "power" gym and a Ringside ring setup.
In my opinion his top fighter, Michael Karner is a well balanced Thai Instructor as well and
is built like a tank. If you are looking for Muay Thai Kickboxing for fight preparation I would highly recommend CTC GYM as the #1 Hardcore Thai Boxing Training Center that works very closely with its sister school, Hybrid Martial Arts Academy on the next block near Tamiami Airport.
I am currently working on my first T.B.A. (Thai Boxing Association) Certification, so that I may be able to illustrate and express myself with more authority within the JKD Concepts branch of Jeet Kune Do, under Guru Dan Inosato for Jun Fan Gung Fu & Filipino Kali.
I would like to add that after all these years of taking notes, writing down the specific drills as a log of my training progression catapolted me into the Ground Fighting aspects of martial arts, and I have to once again gives thanks to my Sifu, Courtney White whose mentoring skills and quest for martial arts excellence continues to mold and fuel my learning in JKD,WingChun,BJJ,CSW,Tai Chi,Qigong and Yoga research.
My Goals are for specialization in:
1)
TBA Muay Thai: under Ajarn Chai Sirisute, President of the Thai Boxing Association of the USA with the help of Kru Wesley Carroll, Fight Trainer-Carroll's Training Center-CTC GYM in Miami,FL 33186.
2) Jun Fan Gung Fu / Filipino Kali: Under Guru Dan Inosanto, President of the IIMAA-Inosanto International Martial Arts Association with the help of Sifu Courtney White, head instructor of Hybrid Martial Arts Academy in Miami,FL 33186.
JKD Concepts: Head Instructor Guru Dan Inosanto, Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts, California.

Jeet Kune Do (The Way of The Intercepting Fist)
was developed by Bruce Lee. Its principles and techniques form a comprehensive fighting system compatible within each persons strengths and limitations.
Lee built his style from the best of wing chun, boxing, fencing, muay thai, submission grappling, and escrima, making JKD the original mixed martial art.
Lee believed that no martial arts style is more important than the individual. Students must be allowed to create their own “style” within the JKD system that best fits their mental and physical attributes. But simple, direct and efficient techniques are the fundamental criterion for all students to follow.
"It's a little tough for the traditional martial artists to swallow, because one system doesn't do it. You've got to cross-train in many different systems. Actually, the father of mixed martial arts, if you will, was Bruce Lee. If you look at the way Bruce Lee trained, the way he fought, and many of the things he wrote, he said the perfect style was no style. You take a little something from everything. You take the good things from every different discipline, use what works, and you throw the rest away." – Dana White, UFC President –
JKD classes are great for those wanting to train harder than traditional form/kata based martial arts, but less than a professional fighter. The basic techniques can be quickly absorbed making it ideal for someone who can only train a few times a week.
For those wanting harder training for competition in amateur or pro fighting, JKD has all the tools needed to easily compete with boxing, kickboxing, submission grappling, MMA, and full contact stickfighting.
Martial Artists in Miami are Training with Sifu Courtney White of Hybrid Martial Arts Academy for his approach to instruction, skills, and charisma in: 3 Kicboxing Arts: Jun Fan Gung Fu, Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), and STX (French Savate & Muay Thai Crosstraining) 3 Grappling Arts: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat Submission Wrestling, and Shoot Wresting, 3 Weaponry Arts: Kali / Escrima - Lameco, Villabrille, and Lacoste.
